secrets of SuccessI Principles that determines SuccessImydearstudents.in
“The
good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a
destination.”
- Carl Rogers
Life is not
a dream. It is a reality. But with our conscious efforts we can create a life
we desire. Dreams can be transcended into realities only with efforts. We can
make even hell a heaven with our efforts. We need to develop the capacities to
transform ourselves to the level of our goals. If we can do it, we can achieve
anything. This is the only simple secret of success. But unfortunately even
after knowing the secrets most of us have not been able to get their desired
success. I have written in my previous blog “What Helps Us”
on this. Knowing the secret is different, and putting it into practice
earnestly is different. Therefore, there is no single factor in our life that
will give us an overwhelming success in life. We must make ourselves capable
enough to achieve our goals because success will never lower its standard for
us.
Dear
Readers, here I am going to write about the various principles that help us to
create a life that we desire.
1. The little little
principle:
Drop by drop
of water makes a mighty ocean. Seconds make minutes, minutes make an
hour, an hour makes a day, a day makes an year and years a whole life. If we
want to make happen big things to us, we must be able to take care of the
smallest things. If we can’t master the art of doing the smallest things in a
great manner, we won’t be able to do great things and achieve more. We mustn’t
run after achievements; we must run after our passion. We must run after what
we love to do and master the art of doing it in a great manner little by little
in baby steps. When we start doing little by little, step by step, there is
less possibility of failing.
2. The principle of
Faith:
The
principle of faith is very important to create the life you desire. Where there
is no faith, doubts arise. Doubts give birth to fear. When fear overcomes faith
success will be paralyzed. Unless we learn to overcome fear, we can’t develop
faith. We need to develop
faith in our own self, faith in our work, faith in the people who is in our
relationship and faith in God to succeed. We can develop faith only when we put
ourselves into action. Without action, developing faith is not possible. We
need to plan our action pertaining to our goals. Goals are very important for
achievements. We need to set goals, plan our actions to achieve our goals one
by one. When we start achieving our goals, we will develop more faith upon
ourselves. When our faith upon ourselves increases we can move even mountains.
3. The Principle of
Determination:
Determination
implies the will to stay with your goal, comes whatever. Determination gives
the will not to give up. We must develop iron determination. Difficulties are
adamantine. We need to develop iron will to overcome adamantine difficulties.
Therefore, nothing can take the place of determination. It shapes our will. It
develops our will power. It provides us with more concentration to do our works
properly. We must try to choose our goals wisely so that we remain more
determined for their achievement.
4. The Principle of
Courage:
Faith and
courage go together. Courage and confidence will come only when we become
competent. We should know more, to achieve more. Ignorance creates fear.
Therefore we must overcome our self doubts by working hard with tiny
achievements. Ahead of fear lies success. We must train our nerves to control
fear and to replace it by faith, love and devotion to our work. Courage will
automatically follow.
5. The Principle
of Knowledge:
Francis
Bacon once said, “Knowledge is power.” Ignorance is the root of all problems
and evils. Knowledge is the only power that will lead us to our goals.
Knowledge about the work to be done, knowledge about the personality traits to
reach our goals, knowledge about healthy relationship, knowledge about
management – all goes long way in determining our success.
6. The Principle of
Devotion:
Where there
is love, there is devotion. Where there is devotion, there is happiness and
prosperity in abundance. There is inner peace and inner freedom. When we choose
to do the work we love, when we decide the way we would love to travel – the
journey becomes interesting. There is unending joy and happiness and the work
becomes a spontaneous process. This is what the various religions teach us.
When we do that what we love we become free from any stress, pressure at work
and unnecessary anxieties. Doesn’t matter what job we are doing, but we will
enjoy a rich and fuller life with devotion and love.
7. The Principle of
Action:
Give not yourself
up to pleasure
Do not give up
effort,
Work incessantly
and cheerfully
Cultivate
comprehensives,
Neither depend on
others
nor put your burden
on them.
- Ramdas, Saint-poet-philosopher of Maharashtra, India
The quality
of the result of any work is determined by the
quality of action. If the action is good, the result will be good.
As you sow, so you reap. The intensity of the action is determined by the
quality of the work. The quality of the work is determined by the quality of
goals. We must choose higher goals in our life so that we can raise ourselves
to the level of our goals. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam said, “Small aim is a crime.” Our
aim should be an ideal one, and our goals should be higher to make our
achievements bigger. To achieve more, we must work in a manner which is
sufficient to satisfy our goals. It should not be less than that or more than
that. While in action, we must always remember the principle of devotion.
8. The Principle of
Surrender:
Principle of
surrender is a principle of very high order. We can develop this principle only
when you have developed required faith and courage in your goal. We have to
merge yourself with your goals. We must have your faith on your work to
surrender our self to our work. If not, then perhaps we might be eyeing upon
other options. If we change our goal then we have to start afresh.
9. The Principle of
Persistence:
We must
develop the habit of never giving up. Whatever happens, we must remain on our
path. We should never cease to do our work. Come whatever may be, we must
remain on our affixed duties, goals and principles if we want to create the
life that we desire.
1 0. The Principle of Self-reliance:
Self-reliance
is the highest virtue. Dependency destroys our self initiatives. Dependency
delays the process of our achievements. We need to take the whole
responsibility upon our self. We can’t expect that our work will be done by
somebody else for us. Find out means to handle your work properly. We need to
work like a master. When we involve our self in the A to Z of a work, we know
it fully. It gives us more experience, knowledge and skill. Therefore we must
cultivate among us the habit of self-reliance. We must continuously upgrade our
self by our self and not degrade our self by our own effort.
